Kimberly Ann Watson Arrested for Boating Under the Influence

June 18th, 2010

Kimberly Ann Watson (of 323B Mossie Smith Road in Easley, SC) was arrested on June 5, 2010 for Boating Under the Influence. Ms. Watson pled guilty to the charges on June 18, 2010.

Fifteen people have died on South Carolina waterways this year compared with 11 in all of 2009, according to the state Department of Natural Resources, which will offer courtesy boat safety inspections and have officers on patrol over the holiday weekend.

DNR encourages all boaters to use a designated driver. On the water, the effects of alcohol or drugs are magnified by the elements of sun, wind and wave action. Alcohol impairs coördination of arm and leg movements, slows response to emergency situations and makes it difficult for boat operators to scan the horizon.

In South Carolina, any person involved in an accident that causes a death or serious injury faces an implied consent alcohol test, and conviction carries penalties up to 25 years imprisonment and a $25,000 fine.

Man Uses Sudoku in Prison Escape Attempt

June 18th, 2010

Published June 18, 2010 | Associated Press

LONDON — A murderer’s plot to escape from a British jail using a helicopter and secret codes hidden in Sudoku puzzles has been foiled.

Brian Lawrence schemed to bring a helicopter into the grounds of a prison on the Isle of Wight, communicating with accomplices using lemon juice as invisible ink and encrypted instructions.

The 67-year-old retired teacher is serving a life term for killing a man and hiring a hitman to kill two others in 2003.

The Ministry of Justice said Friday prison guards became suspicious when they spotted the words “more heat, less light” in a Lawrence letter, then found the invisible messages by heating the paper.

The ministry declined to say when the plot was foiled, but Lawrence has been transferred to another prison.

This sounds like the Riddler. [Gregbo]

Why do Some People Use HTM Rather Than HTML?

June 18th, 2010

We love reading the discussions that develop on Answers. We love the fresh and innovative dev solution’s, the sometimes heated discussions over age old issues and appreciate all of the inspiration that is offered by Answers’ users.
Sometimes though, we come across a question that is neither controversial nor difficult to answer. And that is the point of Answers, its not just about the tricky questions and complex solutions within web design, it is also there to help beginners and amateurs. And that is what we would like to highlight in this post.

You can leave your thoughts on this topic in the comment section below or you can leave your solution on the original question here: Why do Some People Use HTM Rather Than HTML? on Answers.

Why do Some People Use HTM Rather Then HTML?

My boss asked me this very question just the other day. The financial application system we use requires “.htm” and he was wondering why the developers chose one over the other. [Gregbo]
