This is the pencil sketch for my painting, “Watery Grave“, which is inspired by a story my father told me as a kid.
The tale was about a little girl named Jenny Greenteeth who met some tragic end and is forever doomed to live beneath the murky waters of the swamps and marshes. This story kept me out of the water for quite a while as a young boy. Jenny was supposedly known for dragging swimmers down into the depths for company. This is what I imagined her to look like… And why I stayed out of the water.
