Halloween is hands-down my favorite holiday of the year. When contacted by the Mission Creeps to illustrate their 2012 Halloween album, how could I refuse. I had a blast working on this piece and wanted to get the true feeling of a classic Halloween night.
Keeping faithful to the legend of the jack ‘o lantern, I painted a wandering spirit finding her way home by the lighted pumpkin. The pumpkin light and the full moon help cast some eerie shadows and highlights on the old, creepy tree and the haunted house. The ghostly lady has an eerie, yet confused look on her face to allow her to be frightening and still vulnerable as she is being drawn home from the “Great Beyond”.
